Third Barrel is a barrel racing run book built to work entirely offline, in a trailer, with no signal. This policy explains — plainly — what the app does and does not do with your information.
Summary
Third Barrel does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data, because the app contains no networking code at all. Everything you enter stays on your device.
What the app stores, and where
All of your data — horses, arenas, runs, splits, draws, notes, photos you attach, and your app settings — is written only to your device's local storage:
- Run, horse, arena, split and draw records are stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- App preferences (theme, haptics, sound, default split width, reminder lead time) are stored on-device
using
UserDefaults. - Photos you choose to attach to a horse profile or a run (for example, a picture of the arena clock) are stored on-device alongside that record.
None of this data is ever transmitted off your device. There is no server, no backend, and no account to sign into — Third Barrel has nothing to send your data to.
Camera and photo library
If you choose to add a photo — a horse's profile picture or a snapshot of the arena clock after a run — the app asks for camera or photo library access at that moment, with a clear explanation of why. Photos you capture or add through your photo library are attached only to the record you chose and are never uploaded anywhere. You can decline these permissions and continue using the app; only the photo features will be unavailable.
Notifications
If you turn on an optional warm-up reminder for a draw, the app asks for notification permission at that moment. Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device and are never used to send you marketing messages.
Data collected by the app
None. Third Barrel's App Privacy declaration to Apple states that no data is collected, because none is. The app's Privacy Info manifest declares zero collected data types.
Third parties
Third Barrel does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No data is shared with any third party because no data leaves your device.
Children's privacy
Third Barrel does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it collects no information from anyone at all.
Your control over your data
Everything you enter can be edited or deleted from within the app at any time. Settings includes an option to erase all app data from your device. Deleting the app deletes everything Third Barrel ever stored, since nothing exists anywhere else.
